RSF Technologies for Wet Chemical Scrubbers

For high-efficiency contaminant/odour removal with consistently low pressure performance the preferred solution that RSF offer is by Aqueous Wet Chemical Scrubbing (AWCS). AWCS can be employed in various configurations depending on the exact contaminant removal duty. These include:

  • Single stage AWCS acting alone
  • Multi-stage AWCS acting alone
  • Multi-technology, multi-stage scrubbing plants including one or two AWCS stages

Contaminated gases usually enter the bottom of the scrubbing column and meets counter-current flowing scrubbant within the packed bed. Chemical reactions occur within the packed bed along with further reactions requiring longer residence time within the sump. The Scrubbant is recirculated from the sump to the top of the packed bed via a carefully designed pump set and liquid distributor.

RSF applies solubility data, Mass-Transfer Engineered packed columns and significant operating experience to maximise the efficiency of the transfer phase.

The chemical environment is finely controlled to ensure rapid chemical reaction. RSF applies precise PH control and a wide range of chemical techniques to ensure unrivalled system design and performance.

Along with the standard AWCS systems RSF also provide Venturi scubbers where particlate removal is necessary before the AWCS.

Our Scrubbing Columns are designed and built in-house to meet the latest European Standards EN BS 13121 (previously to BS 4994) for the Design of GRP Tanks and Vessels. This gives the customer assurance that they are getting a high performing quality product.
